This verse from Zephaniah, brought to my attention by my churches head pastor at this past Sunday’s service, has been my ‘hold on to’ verse all week. I haven’t memorized it, I haven’t wrote it down or posted it up where I can see it, but I keep looking it up and sharing it with others and just trying to make it familiar. This verse speaks love to me.
I am a singer so the idea of my beautiful God singing over me fills my inner self with a sense that I am indeed his family. It reminds me that things we are good at or even just enjoy… like to do… haven’t just sprung up out of no where but are often right from the one who created us all. There isn’t a scale where he decides whose ‘gifts’ are a bigger deal then others. I spent many a year down playing my music and the Lord spent many a year gently speaking to me, encouraging me to see the truth… that what ever we do, and have to offer him is valuable. He sings over me and loves when I sing to him, when I sing for him, when I sing and he can pour out of me what he has poured into me; and when I sing for, to, his children. And it is all wrapped up in him… wrapped up in love… for my God IS LOVE.
May everything I do not just be for you Jesus but be in you as I first live my life out of your very being and presence in and about me.
