The roof has been bad for years. This was THE spring to get it done finally. We had the equipment rented, the qualified friend prepared to help us, everything delivered and ready… and then it rained… and rained… every day for a few weeks.
Garnet was sure the Lord would make a way. The Lord has his timing and it requires one to trust and wait. We worked on trusting as we watched a future weather forecast stretch out with rain and more rain in sight. The longer the rented items sat the more they would cost us. June rained on by and we had one weekend left before our friend wouldn’t be available for a couple months after that.
The long weekend arrived and the sun came out full force. The sun stayed out all weekend and we kept the hydration flowing up to the men on the roof. In TWO very very full days Garnet and his friend Nathan got it done. Two other fellows surprised us and came over to offer a lot of help for parts of the days. My eldest child got up there and helped her dad out a great deal on the second day too. She has always been a real monkey and did a great job of being available and helpful.
We are incredibly thankful for the break in the rain, for the generosity and hard working help of friends, and for a leak proof roof 🙂
